Super Marble Roll is an infuriating, yet enjoyable iPhone game where a steady hand is required to guide a marble through a series perilous courses.
The controls in Super Marble Roll are solely based on tilting your iPhone to roll the ball around. The aim is to roll the marble from a start point to a target square, within a given time period. If your marble rolls off the side then it plunges into the depths of eternity and you lose one of your three lives.
It sounds quite easy, but all the slopes, bridges, elevators and disappearing platforms make Super Marble Roll a very challenging game of dexterity, even on the easiest of the three level difficulty settings. The later levels are so taxing that you'll find yourself constantly hitting the continue button for hours.
The ball physics in Super Marble Roll are very impressive. The marble, looks, moves and sounds exactly like a rolling ball. The 3D work on the courses is OK, but the backgrounds are very bland and repetitive.
One of the most annoying things about Super Marble Roll is the way it doesn't allow you to save your progress. This means that every time you quit and restart the game, you go back to the first level.
On the whole, Super Marble Roll is an addictive and challenging game that makes good use of the iPhone's tilt controls.
